Applying for Applied Portfolio Management


Applied Portfolio Management (APM) is found under various course listings:

  • FIN 450 for business undergraduate students
  • FIN 840 for graduate students

Enrollment in the APM Class is by application only.

  • Prerequisites are one of FIN 711/753/830/equivalent for graduate students,
  • FIN 410/411/equivalent for undergraduate students, or permission of the instructor.

    Application Instructions

    We will accept applications until the class is full, at which point we will place applicants on a wait list for any openings.

    To enroll in the APM class, turn in the following:

    • A letter of application addressed to Boone Bradley and Jeff Morrison stating why you want to be in the class.
    • Complete the basic Application Information Survey (log in with your "b123b456@home.ku.edu" email address. Note the "home"
    • Your most current Degree Progress Report form in pdf format. Please expand the report to show your grades.
    • A current resume.

    Submit your application materials by e-mail to apm@ku.edu.


    For Spring Semester applicants:

    • We will begin reviewing applications in mid-October
    • Priority will be given to students who apply before Fall Break
    • Review of applications will occur weekly, and you should hear from us within 2 weeks

    For Fall Semester applicants:

    • We will begin reviewing applications in mid-March
    • Priority will be given to students who apply before Spring Break
    • Review of applications will occur weekly, and you should hear from us within 2 weeks
